CleanCatCleanCat Privacy Policy
This policy explains how CleanCat handles information, what processing occurs on your device, what may sync through Apple iCloud, and the choices available to you.
1. Scope and provider
This policy applies to the CleanCat iOS app and the CleanCat product pages on mooqii.me. The service provider and data controller is Wang Weicheng (王维城), an individual developer. Apple's App Store, iCloud, CloudKit, Photos, and payment services are governed by Apple's own privacy policy and terms.
2. Information we process
With your permission, CleanCat can read the photos and videos you select or allow it to access and related metadata such as local asset identifiers, filenames, media types, dimensions, and capture or creation times. To organize your library, the app may also generate similarity features, groups, recognized screenshot text, categories, AI analysis results, review choices, archive records, deletion records, and app settings. It cannot read media outside the Photos access you grant.
3. Why and how information is used
This information is used only to display and organize media, find similar photos, recognize and categorize screenshots, create archived or hidden copies, perform Photos actions you confirm, restore review progress, sync across your devices, and maintain membership access. Where supported, photo analysis, text recognition, and system intelligence run on-device through Apple system frameworks. CleanCat does not currently send photos to a developer-operated server for analysis. Automated results may be inaccurate, and you make the final decision.
4. Permissions and authentication
Photos access is used to view, organize, delete, or restore media. You can grant limited access and change or revoke it in iOS Settings. Face ID or Touch ID is used only if you enable it to unlock hidden storage; authentication is performed by the operating system, and CleanCat receives only a success or failure result, not biometric templates. A six-digit PIN for hidden storage is kept in the device Keychain.
5. On-device storage
Archived or hidden media copies, indexes, recognition and analysis caches, review history, PIN-related security state, and preferences may be kept in the app sandbox, Keychain, or system preference storage. You can remove corresponding archives in the app, and uninstalling the app removes most local data. The exact behavior of Keychain items and device backups is controlled by Apple system mechanisms. Hidden storage is an access-control feature, not an independent backup or a guarantee against all access.
6. iCloud and CloudKit sync
iCloud sync is enabled by default and can be turned off in the app. While enabled, archived photo and video files, filenames, original asset identifiers, dates, categories, recognized text, AI analysis results, review state, deletion markers, and related settings may be sent to the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple account to sync between your devices. Apple hosts this private database, and the developer generally cannot browse its individual records from a developer console. Loading originals stored in iCloud Photos may also contact Apple services. Turning sync off stops future synchronization but does not automatically delete records already uploaded.
7. Purchases and subscriptions
The app uses Apple StoreKit to display products and verify purchases. CleanCat may receive product identifiers, transaction state, purchase or expiration dates, trial eligibility, and revocation or refund status on your device to determine membership access. It does not receive or store your payment card number, payment password, or complete Apple Account credentials. Apple processes payment.
8. Website access data
The public CleanCat product and legal pages do not use advertising trackers, behavioral analytics scripts, or submission forms. Website hosting, content-delivery, and security providers may automatically process IP addresses, browser or device type, requested URLs, timestamps, and error logs to deliver pages, prevent abuse, and diagnose failures. These logs are not used for advertising profiles and are deleted when no longer needed, ordinarily within 30 days, unless a security incident or legal obligation requires longer retention.
10. Legal bases
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, Photos and biometric-authentication processing relies on your permission; purchases, membership, and sync you choose are processed to provide the service you request; and limited website security logs are processed as reasonably necessary to secure and operate the service. You may revoke permissions or disable sync. This does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal, and some features may no longer work.
11. Retention and deletion
Local content is generally kept until you remove it in the app, reset the relevant data, or uninstall the app. CloudKit content is generally kept until you delete the corresponding archive and synchronization completes, or you remove CleanCat data using iCloud storage controls provided by Apple. Disabling sync or uninstalling the app does not itself delete cloud records. Apple retains transaction records and entitlement information under its rules; the app keeps only the state needed to provide access. Website logs follow the period described above.
12. Your choices and rights
You can review, limit, or revoke Photos and biometric permissions in iOS Settings; disable iCloud sync, delete archives, or restore purchases in the app; and manage subscriptions and iCloud storage through your Apple Account. Depending on applicable law, you may also request access, correction, a copy, deletion, or restriction of personal information we control, withdraw consent, or complain to a regulator. Because the developer cannot identify or directly read records in your private CloudKit database, cloud content normally must be managed by you through the app or Apple's account tools.
13. Security and international processing
CleanCat uses protections such as the iOS app sandbox, Keychain, system permissions, Apple transaction verification, and a private CloudKit database. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Apple and website infrastructure providers may process information outside your country or region; processing locations and safeguards are governed by their policies and applicable law.
14. Children
CleanCat is a general-audience app and is not designed to intentionally collect children's information. A person below the age at which they can independently consent in their location should use Photos access, iCloud sync, and purchasing only with a parent or guardian. Contact us if you believe information we control relates to a child without appropriate consent.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when features, data practices, or legal requirements change and will show the new revision date here. For material changes to purposes, data categories, or recipients, we will provide notice through the app, website, or another appropriate channel and obtain renewed consent where required.
